GPHRs must accrue at least 15  international credits as part of their 60 credits.  Can I get all of the credits I need to completely recertify my PHR or SPHR using this package?

Yes.  HRCI requires 60 recertification credits (hours) every 3 years.  PHRs may take any course approved for HRCI credit.  SPHRs must accrue at least 15 hours of Business Management & Strategy (formerly called "Strategic") credit as part of their 60 hours.  You can obtain all of your 60 credits using this package.  GPHRs will need to supplement the package with additional international credits.  Those with California designations will need to supplement the package with additional California credits.

 

There is NO LIMIT on the number of e-Learning credits you may use toward your HRCI recertification.  The HRCI website states: "Calculating Credit for E-Learning/Online Courses:  You will earn one credit hour for every hour.  What do the courses look like?

The courses use many different learning tools.  Depending on the topic, the courses may feature video, audio, animations, and interactive exercises.  All courses feature a consistent, easy-to-navigate interface.  Try the free sample course link (big green box with black text about 1/3 of the way from the top of this page) above to see how the courses work.  You will see many topics including technical ones.  Choose an HR-related topic for the most similar experience.

 

 Are hours and credits the same thing?  

Yes!  1 hour is equal to 1 HRCI credit.

 

 Can I purchase today but have my subscription start at a later date? 

Yes.  Just make a note of your desired start date when asked during checkout.  Your start date can be date between now and December 9, 2013.  Your subscription will be valid for 1 year from your start date.

 

 Can I take just a few courses and receive individual credit for them?

Yes.  Each indicated individual course is pre-approved for HRCI credit.  Once you successfully complete a course, you will receive the pre-approved HRCI program ID number for that course which you will enter into your recertification application to receive the specified number of credits.  If you wish, you may take individual courses without completing an entire series. You may take the courses in any order and at any time during your 1-year subscription.

 

 Can I access my courses from both home and work?

Yes.  You may access your courses from any computer with internet access, as long as the computer meets our minimum technical requirements shown at the bottom of this page.  The easiest way to verify this is to take a sample course and make sure that you are able to view the course text and graphics, see a video, and hear the audio.  The free sample course link is just above these frequently asked questions, in a green box with black text.

 

 Can I start a course and then go back to it again when I have time?

Yes.  You may start and stop courses as often as you like.  Click the blue "Exit>>" button at the top right each time, and the system will remember where you left off and return to your previous position in the course.  Please note that the "Exit>>" button does not work like this in the free sample courses provided on this page since many people are accessing those courses.

 

 How long will it take to earn my HRCI recertification credits?

Work at your own pace, anytime you wish for up to 1 year.  1 credit is equivalent to 1 hour of actual time.  If you need 60 credits, you will need to spend 60 hours of your time in the courses.  To receive HRCI recertification credit, you simply need to master each lesson within a course with a score of 70% or better.  All questions are multiple-choice or 1-word answers and straightforward.  Following each question, you will receive an explanation of the correct answer.  You may repeat lessons as many times as you wish.  Only your best score will be counted. 

 

 Do we need to purchase 1 subscription for each HRCI-certified professional?

Yes.  Each person must have a individual subscription because each HR professional must take his/her own courses and be able to provide individual documentation to HRCI in the event of an audit. 

 

 Do you offer discounts for multiple subscriptions?

 How do I obtain HRCI Recertification Credit for my PHR, SPHR or GPHR?

Each online e-Learning course includes quiz questions to test your understanding.  A passing score for HRCI recertification credit  is 70% for each lesson within a course.  After you answer each quiz question, you will be given the correct answer along with an explanation.  You may repeat the quizzes and the courses as many times you wish during your 1-year subscription.  Only your highest score is the one that will be counted. Questions are multiple-choice or 1-word answers and are straightforward.   

 

When you have successfully completed a course, you will immediately be able to print a Certificate of Mastery which contains the pre-approved HRCI program ID number ("ORG-PROGRAM" ID).  You will enter this HRCI ID number into your HRCI recertification application.  We will be happy to help you with this process.

 Can I print certificates at a later date?

Yes.  If you do not have access to a printer while you are taking courses, you can still view your certiicates online to obtain the HRCI ID numbers.  You can print certificates at any time after you have mastered a course, even after your subscription expires.  You can print from any computer that meets the minimimum specifications shown near the bottom of this page.  You will only need the printed certificates if you are audited by HRCI, but we do encourage you to print them before applying for recertification so that you will be ready in case of an audit.

 

 Can I use this package for my current HRCI recertification cycle and for my next cycle?

Yes.  Take as many courses as you need for your current HRCI recertification cycle.  Then, once your next recertification cycle begins, you may take additional HRCI-approved courses from your package.  You will have access to all courses on this page for 1 year.  You may also renew your subscription at the expiration date for $199.  Please note that HRCI rules state that you may not repeat courses for credit that were used for credit in a previous recertification cycle.

 

 My certification expires in just a few weeks.  Is it realistic for me to obtain 60 hours of credit?

Can I print the materials?

Will the courses work on an iPad?

 Are the courses available in an "accessible" mode?

Yes.  Text-only versions of the courses, designed for use with a screen-reading program, are an option for visually-impaired users.  Simply select this option prior to login. 

 

 Can I renew my subscription after 1 year?
